Both vehicles feature a potent V6. The Frontier gets 310 horses and the Pathfinder provides 284 or 295 horsepower depending on the trim. Both models come with a nine-speed automatic transmission, with standard rear-wheel drive in the Frontier and front-wheel drive in the Pathfinder. You can upgrade either vehicle with available four-wheel drive.
The SUV can tow class-leading 6,000 pounds while the pickup can handle up to 7,150 pounds. The Frontier can also haul up to 1,650 pounds. The Pathfinder gives you up to 27 highway miles per gallon compared to 24 for the Frontier. You can get the Pathfinder with 18″ or 20″ wheels while the Frontier comes with 16″ or 17″ wheels.
Passenger Space and Comfort
The Frontier fits four with the King Cab or five people in the Crew Cab, and the three-row Pathfinder can accommodate up to eight passengers. Both models come with push-button start, and the Pathfinder adds standard three-zone automatic climate control and proximity keyless entry.

In the Pathfinder, you’ll have 16.6 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 45 cubic feet behind the second row, and 80.5 cubic feet behind the first row.
Infotainment Tech
These models each come with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 7-inch driver information display. You’ll have standard smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in both vehicles. The Frontier includes two USB ports, a four-speaker stereo, and a standard Wi-Fi hotspot, while the Pathfinder has four USB connections, a six-speaker stereo, and an optional hotspot.
Driver Assistance
Each vehicle offers a generous standard driver assistance package.
