Still fresh into its seventh generation, this iteration of Nissan’s iconic Z-car has set the sports car world on fire with its gorgeous styling, rip-roaring engine, and divine handling. Long-time fans have come to appreciate that the new car makes callbacks to previous generations while offering the latest refinements and technology. Let’s take a look at how each of the 2024 Nissan Z‘s trims differ from one another.
2024 Nissan Z Trim Level Breakdown
Z Sport
The Z Sport is the lineup’s entry trim, and it’s already a compelling package on its own. The excitement starts with its powerful 3.0L twin-turbo V6 that develops 400 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Buyers will have the choice between a traditional 6-speed manual transmission and a 9-speed automatic. Incredible response and agility are a result of the vehicle’s aggressively tuned and fully independent suspension.
18-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights are standard. Inside, the Z Sport features a driver-centric cockpit with supportive sport seats, ergonomic controls, and a reconfigurable, fully digital 12.3-inch instrument panel. Drivers can enjoy 8-way power adjustability and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The 8-inch touchscreen system comes with support for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration and SiriusXM satellite radio.
Z Performance
While maintaining similar powertrain options to the Z Sport, the Z Performance brings several enhancements. These include a limited-slip differential for increased traction and SynchroRev Match for its manual transmission, which smooths out the gear changes and reduces clutch wear. Greater stopping power is provided by this trim’s Akebono performance brakes with 14-inch front rotors and 13.8 inch rear rotors.
On the exterior of the Z Performance, you’ll find 19-inch RAYS forged-alloy wheels and heated side mirrors. The cabin replaces the premium cloth seat upholstery with a combination of Alcantara and leather. Upgrades to the multimedia system include a larger 9-inch display, wireless smartphone integration, and an 8-speaker Bose audio system. The Z Performance also gets a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot for internet access while on the go.
Z NISMO
NISMO, Nissan’s famed motorsport division, has tuned this model’s powertrain and suspension to achieve superior track performance. Its V6 gets a bump in power to 420 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. It’s a substantial enough boost to bring the Z’s 0-to-60 time down to 3.9 seconds. The suspension boasts bigger shock absorbers, stiffer stabilizer bars, and higher spring rates. Even the steering has been improved with a retuning of its electric power assistance.
The Z NISMO easily stands out from other models with its NISMO-marked 19-inch lightweight RAYS forged-alloy wheels, larger NISMO/Akebono brakes, and red accents. Exclusive Recaro seats feature red inserts and embroidered NISMO logos.
