At a glance, the Nissan Versa and Nissan Sentra are similar in size and body shape. But each has its own unique features that might make it the better choice for you. Here’s what to expect when you test drive both vehicles at your local Nissan dealer in Vancouver, WA.

While they may look similar in size and shape, the Sentra is slightly larger than the Versa. The Versa is 177 inches long and 68.5 inches wide. By comparison, the Sentra is 182.7 inches long and 71.5 inches wide. The two vehicles are nearly the same height, with the Versa just a quarter inch taller than the Sentra.

Differences in Performance and Gas Mileage

In terms of performance, the Sentra leads the way with more horsepower and torque. The Sentra offers 149 horsepower and 146 pounds per foot of torque, while the Versa has up to 122 horsepower, depending on the model, and 114 pounds per foot of torque.

However, despite the differences in engine performance, the Versa and Sentra get similar gas mileage. The Versa gets slightly better gas mileage in the city, at an EPA-estimated 32 MPG city and 40 MPG highway. The Sentra also gets an EPA-estimated 40 MPG highway and 30 MPG city. However, to get the maximum available MPG, you’ll need to opt for the upgraded Xtronic CVT transmission on the Versa.

Comparing Interior Features

While the exterior of both vehicles may be very similar in size, the Sentra and Versa interior layout offer a distinct benefit. For taller drivers and front-seat passengers, the Versa offers a half-inch of extra headroom in the front row. However, if you prefer a roomier backseat, the Sentra offers almost four additional inches of legroom in the backseat compared to the Versa and an additional half inch of legroom in the front row. The Versa also has up to 15 cubic feet of trunk space, while the Sentra has 14.3 cubic feet.

Both the Versa and the Sentra are equipped with various interior features, including Nissan’s Zero Gravity front seats, designed to reduce fatigue by relieving pressure points, large touchscreen displays, and wireless charging.
